Independent Care Health Plan (iCare)
is a managed care organization offering both Medicare and Medicaid insurance
benefits for people with disabilities (physical, developmental and emotional). Independent Care covers medical, dental, behavioral
health, vision, prescription drugs, and social services through a unique
care management model.
Mission
The mission of
iCare
is to improve the quality of life for individuals with unique and complex
medical, behavioral, and human service needs while providing value to our
customers and stakeholders, and respecting the dignity of those we serve.
History
Independent Care was
formed in 1994 as a joint venture between Humana Wisconsin Health Organization
Insurance Corporation and the Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI).
