Health Education and Wellness

We offer health and wellness benefits to all iCare members.  It is iCare's goal to improve the health and well being of its members.  We currently offer the following:

Graphic square Family Planning Services
We provide private family planning benefits to all members. If you do not want to talk to your Primacy Care Provider (PCP) about family planning, call your Care Coordinator. He or she will help you choose an
iCare family planning provider who is different from your PCP.

Medicaid Forward CardGraphic square Use your Forward Card - You can also go to any family planning clinic that will accept your Forward ID card, even if the clinic is not affiliated with iCare. But we encourage you to receive family planning services from an iCare network doctor. That way we can better coordinate all your health care needs.

Pregnant woman being checked by a doctorGraphic square Pregnancy
We have several doctors in our network who specialize in OB/GYN. See your primary care doctor or an OB/GYN for checkups throughout your pregnancy.

When it is time to have your baby, you must go to an iCare network hospital. Talk to your doctor to make sure you understand which hospital you are to go to when it is time to have your baby.

Graphic square Planning on Traveling?
Also, talk to your doctor if you plan to travel in your last month of pregnancy. We want you to have a healthy birth and a good birthing experience. Your doctor knows your history and is the best person to help you with a healthy birth. Do not go out of area to have your baby unless you have your doctor's permission.

Routine Prevention Programs

Graphic square Flu Immune Program

iCare works with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) and your doctor to help you get a flu shot.  Talk to your Care Coordinator at 414-223-4847 to see how you can get a flu shot this fall.

Woman performing self-breast examinationGraphic square Mammography Program
Independent Care and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that female members 40 years of age and older have a mammogram each year.  A mammogram is a great way to detect breast cancer early.  Talk to your Care Coordinator at 414-223-4847 to learn more.

Graphic square HealthCheck
HealthCheck is a checkup benefit for
iCare members ages 19 through their 21st birthday. HealthCheck covers complete health checkups each year. These checkups are very important for a young person’s health. A young adult may look and feel well, yet may have a health problem. Doctors want to see young adults for regular checkups, not just when they are sick. The HealthCheck program has three purposes:
  • To find and treat health problems early.
  • To let you know about special health services.
  • To check if you are eligible for other health care programs not otherwise covered.

The HealthCheck program covers the care for any health problems found during the checkup including medical, dental and eye care. The HealthCheck checkup includes:

  • A health history
  • Physical exam
  • Developmental assessment
  • Hearing and vision test
  • Blood and urine lab tests
  • Complete immunizations (shots)

You will be referred to a dentist and get help in choosing and getting to that dentist. We will help arrange for a ride to your HealthCheck visits. Call Member Services at 414-223-4847 for a ride. You should ask your doctor when you should have your next HealthCheck exam or call your care coordinator for more information.
