Members: Welcome to iCarePicture of a man in physical therapy with female doctor

Now that you are an iCare member, we would like to let you know what iCare is all about.  Independent Care is a Medicaid HMO that manages access to health care and social services for people with disabilities (physical, developmental and emotional) ages 19 and older.  Independent Care offers the same benefits as Medicaid fee-for-service, or Title 19, but with more services, which you can find in our Member Services section.

Independent Care offers those with special needs complete health care coverage and an easy way to access community and social services.  At
iCare, Care Coordinators assist you in getting medical, dental, behavioral health, vision and drug coverage through a process called care management. Care management recognizes medical, emotional, and social needs must be met in order to improve quality of life.

We are glad you chose
iCare as your health plan. Please take advantage of the many different services we cover.

Independent Care brings together your medical, social and community services needs. We not only help you to find a doctor, but also can help you find people who can help with social or community services needs. We work with doctors, nurses and other health care providers who:

  • Support people with differing abilities
  • Are close to your home
  • Are aware of the needs of many cultures

With iCare, you have no co-payments required by Medicaid fee-for-service for prescription drugs and other services listed in our Member Services section; however, if you also have Medicare, you will be required to pay a co-pay for your prescription drugs under the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit.

We can help you choose a primary care provider to bring together all your medical needs. We also can help you find support groups, provide resources to locate food and clothing, and suggest opportunities for social interaction. All iCare members are assigned a personal Care Coordinator, who can help you access services to meet all of your needs.
