Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS) - federal agency that oversees the Medicare program and works with State Medicaid programs.

Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) - offers a full range of employment services for people with special needs. Offices around the state that can help you prepare for the world of work.

Drug information for consumers - a wide-ranging and up-to-date drug information resource. Provides fast, easy searching of over 24,000 approved medications.

Grand Avenue Club - provides people with mental illness help in getting ready for work, paid employment, education, housing, as well as recreational and cultural opportunities.

Independence First - non-profit agency that provides services for the disabled. Its mission is to empower individuals with disabilities through: Education, Advocacy, Independent Living Services, and Coalition Building. Services offered include: independent living skills training, peer counseling, advocacy, and information and referral services to persons with disabilities.

Legal Assistance - legal resources website.

Milwaukee Center for Independence - a community-based agency serving children, adults and families with physical and mental disabilities since 1938. Its mission is to assist individuals and families with special needs to better live and work in the community.

Milwaukee County Health and Human Services - website for Energy Assistance, Food Stamps, Burial Assistance, Childcare, etc.

Our Space - helps those with mental illness to attain a more meaningful life by offering quality programs and services which promote recovery, rehabilitation & renewal.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance - for those who have lost benefits and need assistance paying for medications.

Rent Assistance Program - this Section 8 Program is federally funded and overseen by Milwaukee's Housing Authority. The Section 8 Program often referred to as the Rent Assistance Program (RAP) is designed to help low and moderate income families rent privately owned housing.

Senior Resources - provides wide-ranging information on services for older adults in Wisconsin.

Share Program - a nonprofit food buying club that offers nutritious food products at reduced cost. Anyone who wants to save money on food and help their community can become a SHARE member. No membership fees or eligibility requirements.

Social Security Administration - federal agency that oversees the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. The SSI program makes payments to people with low income who are age 65 or older or are blind or have a disability.

Sojourner Truth House - assistance for women in abusive relationships. Provides shelter, safety and support while restoring dignity and self-worth. Also educates and advocates to promote change in public attitudes about domestic violence.

Transit Plus - a transportation service for individuals with a disabling illness or condition that prevents them from using Milwaukee County Transit System's buses.

Disability Rights Wisconsin - a private, nonprofit agency that provides protection and advocacy for people with disabilities throughout the state.

Wisconsin Front Door Housing Site - assistance in locating housing.
